Apple Class (Year 2)

Welcome to Apple Class! Our teacher is Miss Deane. 

Get to know Miss Summers

1) What are your hobbies?

My hobbies include playing video games on my computer, reading, drawing and collecting BJD dolls!

2) What is your favourite food?

My favourite food is ANYTHING chicken related. I love chicken!

3) Do you have any pets?

I do not, but if I did, I would have a Spinosaurus.

4)  What is your favourite colour?

My favourite colour is pastel blue.

5)  What is a fun fact about yourself?

I can read and write in the Korean Alphabet and earnt an A+ in elementary Korean language studies at a university in Korea! 

Class Information

PE Day

  • Our PE day is a Monday. Please ensure your child comes to school wearing their school PE kit on this day, with all jewellery removed.

Homework

  • Daily reading and/or Phonics homework is compulsory for all children. Please ensure your child's reading record is signed to inform the class teacher that your child has been heard to read at home on a daily basis.
  • Times tables Rockstars is to be completed on  Monday, Wednesday and Friday by 7:30pm. 
  • Handwriting homework is set on a Friday and due in the following Wednesday. 

 

Trips, Events and Workshops

In Year 2 we have had the opportunity to go on many trips this year. These include:

Windsor Castle:

 We visited the lovely Windsor Castle to explore the history of our monarch and learn all about King Charles! We had the opportunity to act out the coronation too!

Pizza Express

Year 2 got to become Pizza Chefs for the day and make delicious tasty pizza's! We learnt about all the ingredients used to make the dough as well as knead and shape our own! It was a great experience!Twickenham Live Room Author Workshop

 We had the chance to see the fabulous Gecko and Mole at Twickenham's Live Room this year! Their amazing new book featured lots of different facts all about dinosaurs! It was a workshop filled with fun, poetry and lots of music!

 

Holly Lodge:

Earlier this year,  we visited Holly Lodge where we got to learn about all the different wildlife that lives in the forest. We went bug catching and pond dipping and even met a newt! Although the highlight of everyone's trip was the coach getting stuck in the mud! Oh dear!

 

Kempton Park Steam Museum:

Apple class joined Sky class this year on a joint trip to the steam museum! Here, we got to speak to the volunteers and learn all about how steam trains run! We got to play on the model steam train in the park and even got to ride a real life one!
